Firing not aimed at Sri Sri Ravishankar: Chidambaram | Union Home Minister P Chidambaram on Monday said that the reported attack on Art of Living (AoL) founder Sri Sri Ravishankar may have not been aimed at him. "The
incident took place after he had left in his car. It may not be correct to say
that the firing was aimed at him," said Chidambaram, adding that the incident
could be related to a dispute between two of his followers. Having escaped unhurt
Sri Ravi Shankar on Monday evening denied that the "attack" could have involved
disgruntled disciples or rivalry in his ashram. "Absolutely not! Absolutely there
is no rivalry; there is no fight (in the ashram). This sort of allegation pains
me," Ravi Shankar told a private channel when he was asked if the attack could
be an inside job involving disgruntled followers. Meanwhile, the Karnataka Police
has resumed the investigations and is scanning the spot for clues. The Karnataka
Government has beefed up security in and around the Art of Living ashram. An unidentified
gunman shot at Sri Sri Ravishankar's car as he was returning to his ashram after
delivering a discourse on Sunday evening. |
