Malaysia and India are exploring ways to cooperate in producing films. National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (Finas) director-general Mohd Mahyidin Mustakim said Finas and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) were working out the venture. This came about during a visit by South Indian film star Kamal Haasan to Kuala Lumpur on Monday, The Star reports. "Kamal Haasan's visit is a result of Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's trip to India earlier this year when Finas, Persatuan Karyawan Malaysia and FICCI signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on film production," Mohd Mahyidin said. He said the collaboration could lead to opportunities for Malaysia's film industry in the international market.
