Police reaches Sania’s house to interrogate Malik | Hyderabad Police on Monday reached Tennis Star Sania Mirza’s house to question Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who is her prospective bridegroom, in a case filed against him by Mohammed Siddiqui. Sania and Mailk are scheduled
to enter wedlock on April 15. On Sunday evening, Siddiqui, father of Ayesha, who
alleged that Malik married her earlier, filed a complaint against him. Siddiqui
family alleged Malik of harassing Ayesha, cheating to marry another girl and criminal
intimidation including threats to her to keep quiet. Meanwhile, the police also
asked Malik not to leave the city without their permission. City Police Commissioner
A K Khan said immigration officials were also put on alert. Police are taking
legal opinion since Mailk is a Pakistani national. "The Banjara Hills police have
received a complaint by Ayesha Siddiqui against Shoaib Malik. We have registered
a case against Shoaib. Now we will take legal opinion quickly before taking further
action," Additional Commissioner of Police D. Thirumala Rao said. A case under
Sections 420 (cheating), 498-A (dowry harassment) and 506 (criminal intimidation)
has been booked against Malik at the Banjara Hills Police Station. Malik, who
landed in Hyderabad on Saturday, admitted to his marriage with Ayesha, but claimed
it was invalid. Malik also accused Ayesha of cheating him as he believed the girl
he was marrying was the one in the photographs sent to him by her. |
