Shri Ram Sena criticizes Sania Mirza for wanting to marry Shoaib Malik

Pramod Muthalik, the leader of the right-wing Shri Ram Sena has also criticized tennis star Sania Mirza for her decision to marry Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik. Speaking to media persons in Bangalore, Muthalik called on the Central Government to prevent Sania from representing India in any future event. "It is wrong to strengthen ties with Pakistan. Sania Mirza didn't find a suitable match for herself among one billion Indians; she doesn't even find a single man among 150 million Muslims," said Pramod Muthalik. "She is betraying both nations, she neither lives here (India) nor in Pakistan, but she resides in Dubai. We request the Indian Government not to allow Sania to represent India and let her reside in Dubai," he added. Earlier, the Shiv Sena had lashed out at Sania through its mouthpiece 'Saamna', saying she should marry an Indian if she wishes to play for India, and added that she is no longer an Indian. Had she truly been an Indian at heart, she would not have chosen a Pakistani. Further objecting to Sania's marriage, the Shiv Sena asserted she should marry an Indian in order to retain Indian nationality. National Communist Party (NCP) leader Jitendra Avhad and Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi also expressed their displeasure, asserting that she would become a Pakistani after her marriage. The wedding ceremony of both sports stars will reportedly take place in April, while the Walima (reception) will be hosted by Shoaib on April 16 or 17 in Lahore. Shoaib was earlier engaged and allegedly married to another Hyderabad girl, Ayesha Siddiqui.
