Himalaya International Ltd. enters nutraceuticals and dietary supplements market | The Himalaya International Limited, India's first frozen food company, has entered the rapidly expanding
nutraceuticals and dietary supplements market with the launch of its product under the brand name-'1 Daily'. Speaking during the brand launching ceremony here, Chairman
of the Himalaya International Limited, Manmohan Malik said that his company has
tied up with the US Global Reliance Inc. for technical collaborations and has
launched four products under the brand name '1 Daily' in accordance with international
standards set up by WHO and USFDA on nutritional supplements. The company has
launched separate supplements for men and women keeping in view of their distinct
anatomy , physical , emotional , biological and physiological requirements, and
is looking forward to become a major player in the 4000 crore domestic market
of dietary supplements. According to a report, changing lifestyle and growing
awareness about nutritional supplements among middle class families in India is
likely has provided a great boost the nutritional supplement market in country,
which is expected to cross 25,000 crores by 2020. "The converging economic and
demographic trends in India have laid the foundation for immense opportunity in
nutraceuticals," Malik said. He said that these supplements will play an important
role in helping people fill the nutritional gaps in their diet which is created
by their life styles. Malik also expressed the hope that with the wide range of
products his company is offering, sales would touch the 100 crore rupees mark
by 2013-14. |
