Bihar Congress withdraws Sadhu Yadav's suspension | The Bihar Congress on Thursday withdrew the resignation of Sadhu Yadav, against whom action was taken yesterday for speaking against the government on the issue of the Women's Reservation Bill. Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA)
Government had on Wednesday suspended Yadav for his anti-government
comments.
Congress Government had sent a notice to Sadhu Yadav in this regard, charging
him of speaking against the party line. Reports said that Yadav, who was not in
favour of the Women Reservation Bill spoke against the Central Government on the
issue. Yadav, however, had said that he did not receive any official notice and
was still with the Congress Government. Sadhu Yadav, who is the brother-in-law
of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav, contested the election
on a Congress ticket that he lost. He was earlier in the Rashtriya Janata Dal
party prior to joining the Congress. |
