one of the venues for the Commonwealth Games. A sports facility block was also inaugurated. The stadium has been designed and constructed to meet the international
standards, along with a new sports facility block with underground parking lot
for about 500 vehicles. Natural resources, habitat and landscape are preserved
and integrated into the overall design of the stadium. The total estimated cost
of this project is rupees 1.5 billion. The stadium would have a seating capacity

in case of emergency have been provided for the entire stadium. In the Sports
Facility Block, adjacent to the stadium, a number of environmental friendly material

all the required facilities. All the work has been done keeping in mind ecological
and environmental concerns. It is a green stadium by the New Delhi Municipal
Council."
