have been badly affected due to Maoist activities in West Midnapore District.
Fully loaded trucks, from Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand have stopped their service
due to Maoists' terror in the border zone of the states, it is linked to Midnapore
District roads. Several trucks carrying food, vegetables, and important material
have been fired at occasionally by the Maoists. For that reason truck and carriers
don't want to move towards the area. This has led to increase in price of vegetables,
food items and daily products that were coming from Bihar, Orissa, Jharkhand.
"From the beginning when strike commenced, truckers from the other states developed
fear and stopped their services through National Highway 6," said Anil Sikaria,
a truck owner. The effect on supply of goods from other states has affected the

Prices are high. Govt. should have to think about it," Sikaria added. On February
