Pursue excellence with determination and vision: Chetan Bhagat | To lead a successful and happy life, one should focus on what he or she wants from his or her life, says Chetan Bhagat during his visit to Delhi University. The author of the bestseller 'Five point Someone' was addressing the aspiring managers about life after CAT.
Conducted by IMS Learning Resources, a pioneer in CAT Entrance training, the
event
saw some 1200 students eagerly wanting to listen to the IIT - IIM pass out. The
chubby Chetan, in words of inspiration, explained that one needs to understand
what one wants from his or her life. "Have a myopic view towards career and life,
focus is important and determination is essential.", said Bhagat. Forgetting the
controversy between him and the producers of the movie 3 Idiots Bhagat said; "
Pursuit of excellence can be achieved by firm determination and vision." Chetan,
who became a full time writer after completing his masters in management from
IIM Ahmedabad, said, " Don't quit your ongoing course in the chase to accomplish
your dreams." "Only a crying baby gets the milk, so if you want something in life
shout out loud and let people know about it, its only then opportunities will
knock your door," he added. Students said they were overwhelmed by Bhagat's
words
of wisdom, as he patiently answered their queries. "We are very happy that, Chetan
had come to meet us. When a man of his stature speaks, people are spellbound.
We all are aspiring to get into IIMs and what better than a guide like Chetan
Bhagat. I would also like to thank IMS for organising such an event.", said Roshni,
a CAT aspirant. Event organizers, IMS Learning Resources, expressed happiness
over the response shown by the students. "Events such as these are to encourage
the students who come to us for preparing for CAT, Chetan took no time to mingle
with the crowd here. I would like to add that this event is just a start. As the
students have liked it so much, IMS will bring up more such events in future.",
added Sanmeet Sidhu, Director, IMS North India. The session revealed Bhagat's
prowess with both pen and oration. The CAT entrance exam is conducted by IIMs.
The government owned colleges are a popular choice for management aspirants as
they have great placement records. Every year, over 200,000 students appear for
CAT, considered to be one of the toughest entrance exams in the world for securing
college admission. |
