26/11: Improved Pak probe can better relations with India, says Krishna | Indian External Affairs Minister SM Krishna on Wednesday said any step taken by Pakistan in the investigation of Mumbai terror attack incident would facilitate
things for India to hold normal business with Pakistan. Talking to media persons
on board while going to Kuwait on a two-day visit on Wednesday, Krishna said:
"Any step forwarded in the direction of Pakistan also investigating into the Mumbai
attack will certainly make it easier for India to carry on normal business with
Pakistan." On Union Home Minister P.Chidambaram's expected visit to Islamabad
to attend the SAARC interior ministers' conference scheduled from February 26
to 28, Krishna said: "Perhaps that visit also, because it is going to be a conference
multilateral in nature and I think Mr. Chidambaram will get a chance to have very
useful exchanges with his counterpart and other leaders in Pakistan." On Tuesday,
in New Delhi, talking about Pakistan's efforts towards bringing perpetrators of
26/11 to justice, Krishna reinforced India's stance saying the country expects
that based on the dossiers provided from Indian side on the 26/11 attacks, Pakistan
would investigate further. "In our previous dialogue, focus has always been on
terror and terror instrumentalities which will continue. The talks with Pakistan,
the doors were never shut but in our previous dialogues the focus has obviously
been on terror, on terror ...in Pakistan to be dismantled. This remains the focal
point of our dialogue with Pakistan," Krishna stated on the sidelines of the 60th
anniversary of the Fulbright programme in India. |
