Congress party welcomes ND Tiwari's resignation | Congress Party on Saturday welcomed the resignation of Andhra Pradesh Governor and senior Congress leader Narayan
Dutt Tiwari from his post. Reacting on Tiwari's resignation, Congress party said
that Tiwari resigned by taking a high moral ground with his step. "I think he
has taken an appropriate decision, keeping in view the high standards of public
life," said Janardan Dwivedi, Congress Spokesperson in the national capital I
think he has resgined on the basis that until a decision is taken to what is right
or what is wrong with respect to allegations, he doesn't want to hold any post,
this is my belief," Dwivedi added. "We welcome his resignation. The Congress party
always acts on moral principles," he added. Tiwari, however, resigned from the
Governor's post, citing 'health grounds'. The resignation came after Tiwari's
alleged pictures were aired by an Andhra channel on Friday showing him on a bed
with two girls. Meanwhile, a high level meeting was held over alleged sex scandal
in the Congress party. Chhattisgarh Governor ESL Narsimhan is likely to get the
additional charge of Andhra Pradesh state following resignation of N.D. Tiwari
over alleged pictures. |
