Jharkhand faces hung Assembly: Shibu Soren will be king-maker | The final election results for the Jharkhand State Assembly elections on Wednesday indicated the electorate pushing the State towards a hung assembly with no single party being in a situation to form government on its own.
Results of the polls held for 81 Assembly seats showed Congress and its alliance
claming the highest number of seats registering win on 25 seats, Bharatiya Janata
Party and alliance winning 20 seats, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (18), Rashtriya Janata
Dal (5), and others winning on 13 seats. The TV channels' reports indicated Shibu
Soren-led Jharkhand Mukti Morcha having a strong possibility of regaining power
with the support of any alliance. Meanwhile, the counting of votes for the 81-member
Jharkhand Assembly began on Wednesday morning amidst tight security. A total of
1,489 candidates were in the fray, whose fate was at stake. Jharkhand polls witnessed
