Berlusconi's attacker apologises for superficial, cowardly conduct | Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's attacker has reportedly apologised for his 'cowardly conduct'.
The 73-year-old politician was left with broken nose and teeth after Massimo Tartaglia,
42, hit him with a statue during a political rally in Milan . According to Italian
media, Tartaglia had apologised for what he called a "superficial, cowardly and
inconsiderate act". Meanwhile, doctors said that Berlusconi will remain in hospital
at least another two nights. "The situation is calm, but (Berlusconi's condition)
requires close attention," the Telegraph quoted Dr Alberto Zangrillo as saying.
He added the premier was unlikely to be able to return to work for some 10 days.
Berlusconi was suffering from a severe headache and has difficulty eating, the
physician added. His injuries also include a deep cut under his left eye and two
broken teeth. |
