Congress party terms BJP's internal crisis "unfortunate" | Congress party on Sunday termed the internal
crisis in the main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as "unfortunate." Expressing
concern over the crisis in the BJP, senior Congress leader Satyavrat Chaturvedi
said BJP should be stable, so as to fulfil its duties as the country's main opposition
party. "I would call it (the crisis in Bharatiya Janata Party) unfortunate, that
the main opposition party of the country is undergoing such a political and internal
crisis. This is not good for the democracy of the country. We may benefit out
of the crisis in our rival party but country's main opposition must be stable,
strong and fulfil its duties efficiently," Chaturvedi said. BJP leaders have been
holding hectic parleys with Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) following the crisis
in the party which triggered after the expulsion of senior leader Jaswant Singh
for writing a book on Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan. Meanwhile, earlier the
BJP President Rajnath Singh has asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh not to worry
about the developments in his party. Rajnath Singh comment came in response to
Saturday statement by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in which he said: "The
situation in the BJP is not good...it is BJP's internal matter but stability in
political parties is most necessary in a democracy, otherwise, it will have an
impact on the country." BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar informed the media
on Sunday that Rajnath had written a letter to Singh in this regard. " Rather
than worrying about he development in the BJP, we urge you to concentrate on the
developmental work. The farmers of the country are suffering from the drought.
Constitute a Task Force to tackle the drought situation. Take immediate steps
to tackle price rise," Javadekar quoted Rajnath's letter, as saying.
