Amul dairy to be felicitated at national energy conservation award, 2009 | We are happy to inform that Amul Dairy, Anand has been selected for certificate of merit award for the year 2009 as a part of National Energy Conservation Award - 2009 constituted by Ministry of Power, Government of India. The award
will be handed over at a special function organized at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi
on December 14 2009. Rahul Kumar, Managing Director, Amul Dairy, Anand will be
accepting the Award. The National Energy Conservation Award is constituted to
give national recognition to the selected Industrial units who have made systematic
and significant efforts for efficient utilization and conservation of energy during
the year. Amul has introduced several energy conservation projects such as replacement
of energy intensive old boilers with fully automatic new boilers, replacement
of furnace oil with Natural Gas for clean and energy efficient environment, power
generation from Natural Gas, Installation of Vapour Absorption system to generate
refrigeration through waste heat from Gas engine apart from several other measures
such as installation of frequency drives, modification of process lines to name
a few. These measures have helped us in reducing specific energy consumption up
to the tune of 17 per cent with net savings of more than Rupees 2.0 Crores, Shri
Rahul Kumar added. Amul has also taken ambitious project of replacement of traditional
can milk collection and transportation system with Bulk Milk Chilling Units. This
will help to reduce not only the transportation costs but also reduce environmental
pollution and result into more savings and better returns to the farmers. Rahul
Kumar mentioned that the recognition, no doubt, will boost our continuing efforts
to conserve depleting natural sources by way of utilizing optimum use of energy
sources, electricity, gas and furnace oil. |
