Leaders of Communist Party of India- Marxists (CPI-M) met Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Friday and claimed to have presented "evidence" of the "nexus" between Maoists and Trinamool Congress (TMC). Addressing the media in the national capital, Politburo member of CPI (M) Sita Ram Yechury said: "A delegation of left leaders today met Prime Minister and presented him a memorandum that contained evidence including a compact disc highlighting nexus between TMC and Maoists." "Trinamool Congress is indulging in violence to win the forthcoming elections," he added. Yechury also said that the Prime Minister has assured the delegation that a probe into the allegations would be conducted by the Home Ministry. "Well Prime Minister gave us an assurance and said that all the evidence that we have submitted to him will be sent to the Home Minister (P. Chidambaram) for a very proper and through examination," he said. Meanwhile, TMC chief and Union Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee said that her party doesn't believe in Maoist ideology and alleged that CPI (M) activists are supporting Maoists. "We don't believe the ideology of Mau. ...... will appreciate we the people we are....from the Congress party. Our ideology is different. And number two we have some leftist friends also, but they don't trust the CPI (M) ideology. So, who are these.... communists and Maoists. CPI (M) day time are Communist Party of India Marxist and in the night time they are communist party Maoist," Banerjee said.
