Detained ULFA chief Rajkhowa flown to Delhi

ULFA chief Arabinda Rajkhowa is now under the custody of the Indian Government, according to a television news agency. The report claimed that Rajkhowa was handed over by Bangladesh in Tripura today and was been flown to Delhi. There has been no official confirmation of the report. According to some reports, someone claiming to be Rajkhowa rang up a news channel stating that he was not in custody. Bangladeshi security agencies officials kept Rajkhowa at a secure location following his arrest. Earlier on Wednesday, Home Minister P Chidambaram said in the Rajya Sabha that if the ULFA agrees to stop violence and give up its claim for sovereignty, the Government of India would agree to conduct talks. Rajkhowa''s arrest has led many people to believe that the peace process in Assam would begin once again. Following the arrest of the ULFA chief, an alert has been sounded across Assam.
