Pak should also be included in Indian Govt's talks with Kashmiri leaders: Qureshi | Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that Islamabad should also be included in the talks between the Indian government and Kashmiri leaders, as it is also a party to the dispute. Interacting with media persons here, Qureshi denied being
involved in any back-channel diplomacy with India , and added that Islamabad wants
a constructive engagement and meaningful dialogue with New Delhi . "It is for
India to decide what it wants in the future because Pakistan is not interested
in a photo session," The Dawn quoted Qureshi, as saying. Referring to his informal
meeting with Indian counterpart S M Krishna on the sidelines of the swearing-in
ceremony of Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul earlier this week, Qureshi
said Pakistan has made it clear that the resumption of bilateral talks between
both the countries was not only in favour of both India and Pakistan, but also
for the entire region. " Pakistan is ready to discuss 'everything' and 'anything'
with India ," he said. Responding to queries about Dr.Manmohan Singh landmark
US visit, Qureshi said: " Pakistan would not bow to pressure from India or any
other country because it has its own priorities and would take all decisions in
the country's interest." He also rejected reports about Afghan Taliban chief Mullah
Omar hiding in Karachi, saying if there would have been any credible information
regarding the Taliban leader's whereabouts, it would have been conveyed through
'official channels'. It is worth mentioning here that the Washington Times on
Friday had reported that Pakistan 's Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) has helped
the one-eyed Taliban supreme Mullah Omar to flee from the border town of Quetta
to the port city of Karachi , fearing that US drones might target him. |
