Gilani to provide evidence on India’s involvement in Baloch insurgency | Pakistan has once again raked up the issue of India’s alleged involvement in fanning insurgency in Balochistan,
with Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani saying that Islamabad would provide the evidence to New Delhi at a ‘suitable time’. “The evidence will be presented at
a suitable time,” Gilani told media persons at the Multan airport. Gilani reiterated
that Pakistan wants good relationship with all its neighbours, including India
and stressed on need for early resumption of bilateral talks between both countries.
“ Pakistan wants good relations with all its neighbours and desires the resumption
of composite dialogue process with India . Dialogue is the only way forward,”
The Daily Times quoted Gilani, as saying. Responding to a question regarding the
safety of country’s nuclear installations, Gilani said Pakistan would never compromise
on its nuclear programme and that the country’s nuclear assets were safe under
the Nuclear Command and Control Authority. He urged the international community
to help Pakistan fight the menace of terror and build its anti-terror capacity,
adding Islamabad lacked state-of-the-art equipments needed to root out extremists
from its soil. Commenting on the US led drone attacks in the tribal areas in the
lawless tribal areas along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, Gilani reiterated
that the missile hits were proving counterproductive in the ‘war on terror’. “While
we are trying to separate militants from tribesmen, drone attacks are doing exactly
the opposite,” he said. |
