Maoists kill four security personnel in West Bengal | At least four security personnel of the Eastern Frontier Rifles were shot dead by Maoists at Gidhni Bazar
under Jamboni police station in West Midnapur district on Sunday. The incident took place at around 6 pm when the personnel of Eastern Frontier Rifles were patrolling
the area. "We did not realise how they (Maoists) came.. there was load-shedding
and they had switched off the light of those who had invertors working," said
Ram Kisan, a personnel of Eastern Frontier Rifles. According to officials Maoist
leader Koteshar Rao alias Kishanji has taken the responsibility for the attack.
The attack came as a big blow after the Chief Minister Buddhadev Bhattacharjee's
visit to the West Midnapur district in an attempt to boost the local administration
to flush out Maoist from the area. |
