NEW DELHI: The online registration for the National Eligibility-Cum-Entrance
(NEET) Test - II, 2016 would start on Thursday, May 26, the Central Board of
Secondary Education (CBSE), which will conduct the exam, had declared. The NEET
II will be held on July 24. However, till Thursday evening, the CBSE website,
www.aipmt.nic.in, pulled up a notice: "Coming shortly. Please try again after some
time."
The detailed information like test, syllabus and eligibility criteria were to be
available on the official website, www.aipmt.nic.in
The test covers the courses: Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)
and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
Candidates who could not register in AIPMT-2016 (now called NEET-I),
those who were registered for the above but could not appear and
those who were registered for above and had appeared but want to reappear but
ready to give up that candidature by submitting an undertaking are eligible to
apply for the NEET-II.
"This test will be applicable for admissions to the all India quota seats, State
Government quota seats where the State Government concerned so opts and
private/management/NRI quota seats in all private medical/dental colleges or any
private/deemed university," according to an official announcement.
An ordinance was issued by the Union Government earlier giving exemption from
the SC's NEET order to the State Governments to hold their own tests but only for
their Government seats, for the current year. From next year, however, there will
be only one test, NEET, for admission to all medical colleges in the country.
