An Indian convenience store clerk chased away a probable robber by firing cans of beer at him. Steven Paul Larson pulled a shirt over his head as store clerk Dilip Patel threw beer cans at him. The knife-wielding thief dropped the money as he fled. “I scared him and he ran away,” the New York Daily News quoted Patel as telling the local NBC affiliate. Patel was working at the store in Port Orange , Fla. , late on Tuesday when police say Larson showed up with a black T-shirt covering his face, wielding a knife. Surveillance footage shows the man reaching over the counter and yanking cash from the register, threatening the cashier with a knife. Patel snatched a 4-pack of Natural Light, ran around the counter and pelted the man with the cans as he fled from the store. Paul Larson was charged with battery and armed robbery after attempting to rob the convenience store ably defended by store clerk Patel.
