Yoga guru Baba Ramdev has said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, by allowing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in multi-brand retail, is pushing the economy towards colonization and encouraging economic imperialism. “He wants to hand over the entire economy to foreigners and he wants that the nation should head towards economic imperialism. There are 1 crore 40 lakh of retail shops in the country and around 4-5 crores of people engaged over there and around 25 crores (250 million) of people are dependent on them and it is their means of livelihood, and prime minister wants to bring all these people on road,” Ramdev said. Ramdev added that government was trying to get back the black money stashed in off shore banks by introducing FDI. “Now, we will see less of foreign currency coming to the country and all those corrupt people who have stored their black money abroad will bring their money back to country through the medium of FDI. Earlier these people accumulated black money by various corrupt means and looting our natural resources and same people will take over the country's economy though FDI,” he said. “This is the testing time for all the allies of the Central government. All these allies should convey to the government that they are not supporting them any more and want justice for the country,” he added.
