High Court bars Kalmadi from contesting for IOA top job | | The Delhi High Court on Thursday ruled that the former Congress MP and Indian Olympic Association (IOA) chief Suresh Kalmadi cannot contest for the post of IOA chief anymore. The court has ordered the IOA polls to be held on the basis of the sports code. The sports code doesn't allow more than three terms for the IOA chief. Kalmadi, out on bail in connection with the Commonwealth Games scam, has headed the IOA for 18 years. He was arrested last year in April following charges of corruption in connection with the CWG fund. |
