India to help develop vocational training centres in Palestine | | India has offered to assist Palestine to develop vocational training centres there. It will be part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by External Affairs Minister SM Krishna and Member of Executive Committee of Palestinian Liberation Organisation (PLO) Dr Saeb MS Erakat here on Tuesday. The proposal has been considered for capacity building of youth and women of Palestine by providing machinery and technical expertise for vocational training centres (VTCs) in Palestine The Indian government will provide equipment for VTCs in the existing Palestinian infrastructure, besides giving necessary training to the identified Palestinian trainers. The Project will be implemented by HMT International Ltd., a Government of India Enterprise, under the Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. Earlier in the day, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, who arrived here on Monday night on a State visit, held delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.
