Session on Tibetan democracy gets underway in Kullu | Religious leader Dagpo Rinpoche kicked off the annual 13-day
preaching session on the 52nd Tibetan Democracy Day here on Sunday.
People thronged the Kais Monastery to witness the traditional rituals.
The prayer session was observed at Dhakpo Shedrup Ling Monastery Kais Kullu, where
Dagpo Rinpoche chanted hymns and preached religious sessions.
Speaking to media, local spokesperson of Dhakpo Shedrup Ling Monastery Kais, Norbu,
said, “People from every country want to live independently. Living in some other country is
refuge, so if we get independence in our own country it would be good. One day Tibet would
get independence.”
Traditional rituals and preaching on Bodhisattvas will remain the centre of attraction during the
session.
“From today till 14th of this month priest Rinpoche will preach one of the holy books. One of
the famous religious books by a spiritual leader, Atisha would be read. That very script is read
every year in these special prayers, which are conducted here. Like every year, this year also
he is here and this will continue from today for 14 days,” Norbu added. |
