Police deployed as Ramdev asks supporters to get ready for jail | Yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who has been fasting for the last four days at Ramlila Maidan over a strong lokpal, on Monday asked his supporters to pack their bags and get ready to go
to jail. Following Ramdev's call for 'jail bharo', the police are tight-lipped
about their plan of action. Sources have ruled out any massive crackdown. The
security has been tightened and heavy deployment of the force could be seen in
the national capital. Ramdev has demanded that government bring a strong Lokpal
bill, ensure transparency in naming heads of the CBI and the EC and make efforts
to bring back black money stashed in foreign banks. He had on Sunday deferred
to Monday the announcement of his next course of action. A march to Parliament
and a mass courting of arrest aren't ruled out. He declared, it is now time for
a "nationwide mahakranti in every home, every lane of every village across each
district." Launching a diatribe against the Congress, he said: "We will now go
from village to village telling them may be Congress people own this black money
and so they do not want to declare it national asset." Ramdev's demand was similar
to the one that was heard during his last year's stir at the ground that ended
in a midnight purge by the police.
