Delhi High Court bars Kalmadi from attending London Olympics | | The Delhi High Court on Wednesday snapped tainted former CWG chief Suresh Kalmadi’s London dreams, directing him not to leave the country before July 27. The court denied
him permission to attend any games in his official capacity, besides barring him from attending the Games’ opening ceremony. Earlier on Tuesday, the Delhi High
Court had reserved its order till Wednesday to allow Kalmadi to travel to London
for the Olympics beginning from Friday. A PIL filed by advocate Rahul Mehra had
sought the court`s direction to restrain Kalmadi from going to London since he
is facing trial in a corruption case, and cannot be allowed to represent the country
at an international event.
