Romney's June fundraising outdoes Obama's by $35 million | Republican Mitt Romney raised 106.1 million dollars in June for his election, his
team has
announced. According to CBS News, the Obama campaign, in turn, announced that
they and the Democratic Party raised 71 million dollars. Romney has out raised
Obama's campaign for the second straight month. Romney campaign spokesperson Andrea
Saul said: "This month's fundraising is a statement from voters that they want
a change of direction in Washington ." "In the months to come, these resources
will be crucial to highlighting the difference between President Obama's broken
promises and Mitt Romney's plan to get America on the right track again," Saul
said. The Romney campaign said it and its joint RNC committee had at least 160
million dollars in the bank as on June 30. The Obama campaign did not say how
much they and the joint DNC committee collected, however, at the end of May, they
had 147 million dollars. Romney held at least one fundraiser on at least 18 out
of the 30 days in June. In comparison, Obama attended 33 fundraisers in June,
the most of any month since filing for re-election in April 2011.
