Decision to make Akhilesh Chief Minister hasty, says Amar Singh | Friend turned foe of Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav, Amar Singh, said on Wednesday that Yadav had jumped
the gun in making his son Akhilesh Yadav, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.
Interacting with mediapersons here, Singh criticised Mulayam, soon after Akhilesh
Yadav took a U-turn on his proposal for legislators to buy cars from the Local
Area Development Fund. “Mulayam Singh is guilty of making Akhilesh Yadav the state's
chief minister for the sake of dynasty politics and not bothering whether his
son is really ready for the responsibility or not. Hence it is not the fault of
Akhilesh,” he said. Singh advised Akhilesh to come out of the “uncle syndrome”
and take tough decisions. “I believe Akhilesh calls all the bureaucrats and ministers
as 'uncles'. He has to now understand and accept that he is no longer the nephew;
Akhilesh has to come out of 'uncle syndrome' and take tough decisions,” he added.
Singh condemned Akhilesh’s controversial decision of offering cars to legislators
from the state fund. “My opinion is one the same lines as that of the country's
intellectuals and view raised by television news channels. I will also like to
join forces with them,” Singh added.
