Seven Pakistani soldiers have been beheaded by Taliban militants close to the Afghan border, according to a report. The soldiers were on patrol in the north-western district of Upper Dir. According to the BBC, four other soldiers remain missing after the reported cross-border attack involving 100 heavily armed militants. The Upper Dir skirmish has provoked new tensions between Islamabad and Kabul . Islamabadhas often complained that militants use parts of Afghanistan as a sanctuary from which to stage attacks inside Pakistan . According to the report, Pakistan Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said he would complain directly to Afghan President Hamid Karzai about the incident.
