A black dress, hat, bodice and silk undergarments which belong to Queen Victoria and date back to the 1880s, have been found in a cardboard box and will be put up for auction later this month. The royal clothes had been discovered in a house near Derby after the owner, who had bought them at an auction some years ago, died. “It’s royal catwalk. You do not expect to unearth such important items in a cardboard box,” the Daily Express quoted Charles Hanson, of Hansons Auctioneers of Etwall, Derbyshire, as saying. They are expected to fetch thousands at the new auction, with the dress going for at least 1,000 pounds.
