Sherry Rehman terms Panetta's 'losing patience with Pak' remarks 'unhelpful' | | Pakistan's envoy to the United States, Sherry Rehman, has branded US Defense Secretary Leon Panetta's latest stab at Islamabad's failure to tackle militant safe havens, as "unhelpful", saying it would make it harder for the two countries to narrow their differences. as saying. Panetta had said the U.S. was reaching the limits of its patience with
Pakistan because of the safe havens the country offered to insurgents fighting
in neighboring Afghanistan . Panetta's statements were welcomed in the U.S. Congress
where both Republican and Democratic lawmakers are getting increasingly critical
of Pakistan 's Afghan policies, particularly after Pakistan 's decision to close
a key supply route to Afghanistan.
