High-tech exam paper leak racket busted in New Delhi | The police has busted a high-tech paper leak racket related to various competitive
examinations and arrested three people from West Delhi area of the city on Monday.
The three have been identified as Ravi Atri (25), the mastermind of the gang,
Amarjeet and Nawal, both in their early 20s. They have been arrested for allegedly
trying to leak the question paper of State Bank of India 's Assistants Grade examination
held on Sunday, police said. "In Delhi there is a gang, which uses hi-tech gadgets
to facilitate copying and cheating and also participates in it," said Tajinder
Luthra, Joint Commissioner of Police, Northern Range . The gang used to make sit
a fake candidate in the examination hall who used to mail the question papers
after using a hidden scanner to their control room and further it was transmitted
to their clients. "They used to make a fake candidate sit in the examination hall
with hi-tech equipment. The candidate used to have a hidden scanner. The dummy
candidate used to scan the question paper in the examination hall and mail to
their control room. The control room would crack the question paper and send the
answers to the candidates who were their clients through mobile and bluetooth,"
said Luthra. The police has recovered a huge cache of cell phones, laptops and
other gadgets from their possession. "The recovery that we have made is laptop,
secret scanners, watches, which they used as mobile, bluetooth devices, earplugs,
six identity cards, which bear the photographs of the accused and someone else's
name," Luthra informed.
