YSRC blames media for selective reportage, urges cadres to maintain calm | As the YSR Congress (YSRC) party
chief Jaganmohan Reddy charged the Congress and the Telegu Desum Party (TDP) of
conspiring against him in the alleged disproportionate assets case, his party
in a statement, has made its displeasure clear on the way a section of media has
been trying to “subvert the investigation process.” “After his request for a postponement
(of personally appearing before the CBI) was turned down, a section of media has
been beaming news that would create panic among the general people,” party spokespersons
Ambati Rambabu and Vasireddy Padma told reporters here. Padma alleged that sections
of media carried reports that suggested Reddy was not cooperating with the investigators.
She urged the party cadre not to get anxious or provoked. The statement said that
the police has been harassing the YSRC cadres, and has urged them to maintain
calm and exercise restraint. The statement also brushed aside the charge that
Reddy was fearing arrest and has moved court for anticipatory bail. “We have explored
all legal options and complied with the legal system,” it said.
