US Muslim soldier found guilty of plotting attack on Fort Hood troops in 2011 | A US soldier, who was charged with plotting an attack on Fort Hood troops in 2011, has been found guilty on all counts. Private First Class Naser Jason Abdo, a Muslim
soldier who was AWOL from Fort Campbell, Ky. , will face life imprisonment for attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. Abdo was attempting to blow up
a Texas restaurant where Fort Hood personnel came in large numbers, the New York
Post reports. Prosecutors said that Abdo was arrested on July 27, 2011, just hours
before he was assembling a bomb. Abdo confessed to plotting the attacks and told
officers that he had explosives in his bag and hotel room. "I was planning to
pull off an attack in Fort Hood , Killeen ... I didn't appreciate what my unit
did in Afghanistan ," Abdo told an officer in an audio recording. Police found
a gun, gunpowder, shotgun shells, shotgun pellets, two clocks, two spools of auto
wire, an electric drill and two pressure cookers during search operation. He had
also written an article 'Make a bomb in the kitchen of your Mom'. An article of
the same title was published in Al Qaeda's English-language magazine 'Inspire'.
