Ghaziabad court charges Talwars for Aarushi’s murder |
A Ghaziabad Sessions Court, in an in-camera hearing on Thursday, charged Doctors Rajesh and
Nupur Talwar with the murder of Aarushi Talwar, their teenaged daughter in May,
2008. The doctor- couple was also charged with destruction of evidence, with Rajesh
Talwar being charged additionally for filing false First Information report (FIR)
and misleading the court. Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) counsel R.K.Saini
said that a formal chargesheet would be filed in the court on Friday. Earlier
on Tuesday, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had argued that the Talwars
should be charged with murder, filing false FIRs, destruction of evidence and
misleading the court in connection with the 2008 murder case. The court had, on
Wednesday, deferred the hearing on framing of charges against Talwars to Thursday.
The court’s decision had come after lawyers for Nupur and Rajesh Talwar produced
a golf club in court to dispute allegations that the couple used a similar club
to kill aarushi and Hemraj in he sensational twin murder. Aarushi, 14, was found
dead with her throat slit at her Noida residence on May 16, 2008 and the body
of Hemraj was recovered from the terrace a day later.
