A 500-member delegation from Pakistan arrived here on Wednesday to participate in the 800th Urs (death anniversary) of Sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti. Members of the delegation expressed happiness over the hospitality accorded to them by the Indian authorities. "We have come here for the Urs and we were received in a very warm manner. We are very thankful to the authorities for the arrangements," said Syed Aminuddin, a Pakistani leader. Police had stepped up the security to avert any untoward incident. The pilgrims added that they did not face any hassles in receiving visas and appreciated the efforts of the government for making proper arrangements for their visit. "We have not faced any problem regarding the visa. We were welcomed in a very good manner. Around 500 people have come here for the festival," said Aminuddin. Though Urs is normally associated with the Muslims, people of all faiths participate with equal reverence. The annual event culminates with readings from the holy Quran and special prayers.
