Triumphant Modi reaches out to Gujarat diaspora | Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra
Modi on Sunday addressed non-resident Indians, including Gujaratis settled in
the United States and Canada, via video conferencing and offered a glimpse
of the recent developments in the state. "I congratulate all my brothers settled
abroad for always remembering their beloved nation, instilling those thoughts
amongst the new generation and informed others about Gujarat and the country,"
Modi said from Ahmedabad. Modi lauded the growth of the manufacturing sector and
said the growth in the sector has picked up in recent years. "The main reason
behind the discussions which are going on about China and Gujarat is the success
of the manufacturing sector and Gujarat is leading in the manufacturing sector,"
he added. Further, Modi expressed pride in growing automobiles industries in the
state. "Gujarat is becoming the automobile hub of Asia . Today, I want to proudly
say that there is no single vehicle in the country of which the parts are not
manufactured in the state and exported and used to make vehicles," he asserted.
Modi also mentioned about the growth registered by Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing
Federation (GCMMF). "The production of milk has been increased by 68 percent in
the state within a period of 10 years. Can you imagine? I today proudly say the
government of Delhi will not get tea unless Gujarat provides milk to it and my
workers have done it," Modi gushed.
