China permits blind dissident Chen to leave for US | | China has reportedly allowed blind dissident Chen Guangcheng
to leave for the United States, a US-based Christian advocacy group has said.
According to an emailed statement of the group, Chen Guangcheng told Bob Fu, the
president of Texas-based China Aid, that he along with his family was heading
towards Beijing airport. According to The News, Chen and his family were informed
to pack up and get ready to leave China , the statement said. However, Chen could
not be reached for comments.
