London-based trader ‘Voldemort’ behind JP Morgan’s $2b bank ‘black hole’ | A London based trader, nicknamed ‘Voldemort’
is believed to be responsible for the 2 billion dollar trading loss for investment
bank JP Morgan. Bruno Michel Iksil was identified as the man behind the huge trading
loss. The ‘black hole’ on the trade loss was revealed during the bank’s second
quarter. There are also fears that his trades might cost the bank a further 750
million pounds in the coming months. According to The Daily Mail, it emerged that
Iksil works in JP Morgan’s Chief Investment Office ( CIO) where his job was reportedly
supposed to oversee mitigating risk, and his boss Ina Drew, one of Wall Street’s
most powerful women, collected a 10 million pound pay packet last year. French-born
Iksil , who is a father of four in his mid Forties, has been living and working
in London for the past seven years. He has been nicknamed ‘Lord Voldemort ‘, along
with the names like ‘London Whale’ and ‘White Whale.’ He was nicknamed ‘Voldemort’
after the Harry Potter villain, because he was seen as a ‘scary and powerful’
force among the City traders of London.
