US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton met Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, here on Tuesday. Both shook hands and exchanged pleasantries after their meeting. Swaraj escorted Clinton right up to her car. Clinton had earlier met External Affairs Minister S.M. Krishna where both stressed on the need to fight against terror at a joint press conference. Earlier on Monday, Clinton called on Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi. Clinton also enjoyed a warm, vibrant and energetic discussion with West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee earlier on Monday, where she touched on issues ranging from increasing US investment in West Bengal , including in the retail sector, US-India relations, regional affairs and strong people-to-people connections. Clinton reaffirmed to Banerjee the US desire to work with India and West Bengal to deepen and broaden our partnership.
