Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav on Sunday hit out Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for shaking hands with Gujarat counterpart Narender Modi during the NCTC meet in New Delhi, saying the incident revealed his real face. Charging Kumar with fooling the people of the Bihar through his egoistic attitude, Yadav said even legislators and lawmakers of the ruling Janata Dal-United have not been heard properly during his tenure. "The law and order situation has deteriorated. There is wide spread abduction and robbery during his rule. The police oppression has increased tremendously during his rule. There is no hearing of the people's representative. Our party is quite far, even the MLAs and MPs of the JD-U (Janata Dal-United) are not heard properly," said Yadav. "Nitish Kumar is full of ego. He shook hands with Narender Modi during the meeting in Delhi , whereas here he used to say that he maintains a distance from Modi. The whole world came to know yesterday what he is doing (in the true sense). Nitish Kumar was giggling in front of Narender Modi like a kid, and he was teasing him," he added. Yadav said Kumar was not even invited by Modi for the Bihar Divas celebrations in Surat . "Again he acted that he was celebrating Bihar Divas in Surat , Gujarat . But Narender Modi delivered a big blow by not inviting him. Modi did not even let him enter his territory. Only Ashwani Chaubey, who is a strong supporter of Narender Modi has been invited there, not Nitish Kumar," he said. Commenting on the setting up of the proposed National Terrorism Counter Centre (NCTC), Yadav said that his party was of the view that whatever decision is taken, it should be unanimous with everybody taken into confidence. On Saturday, the state governments and the Centre differed on the powers to be allocated to the new anti-terror body. Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram met with the state chief ministers in Delhi to arrive at a consensus on the NCTC issue. Non-Congress ruled states alleged that the NCTC violates the federal structure and demanded drastic changes in the proposed law. The main task of the NCTC would be to ensure that a wide variety of security organizations in the country work in tandem, at least on issues related to terrorism. It will also have the power to seek information, including documents, reports, transcripts, and cyber information from any agency, including from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), National Investigation Agency, National Technical Research Organization, Directorate of Revenue Intelligence and all seven central armed police forces including the National Security Guard (NSG). The body, which will function under the Intelligence Bureau, would be given its own operational wing with powers to arrest and conduct searches under Section 43A of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
