PLA, Maoists signed MoU for fighting war against Govt | Delhi Police Special Cell has found emails exchanged between two members of the Manipur-based banned outfit People's Liberation Army (PLA) and top Maoist leaders Kishenji and Ganapathy. The police have filed a chargesheet
in this regard. According to the police, the People's Liberation Army was routing explosives and sophisticated weapons to the Maoists in Jharkhand-Orissa border
via Guwahati in Assam . One of the two accused was handed over a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) by Kishenji in August 2010 for "undertaking joint training
and setting up of training camps for the Maoists in Myanmar ", The Indian Express
reports. Two members of the People's Liberation Army N Dilip Singh alias Wangba
and Alok Kumar Singh alias Willow, from a hotel in Paharganj area of New Delhi
on October 1, 2011. Wangba, 51, had been assigned the work of finalisation modalities
and supply of arms and ammunition to CPI (Maoist) cadres. Alok Kumar Singh, 36,
used to run a travel agency in Pune before being arrested. The Special Cell filed
a 950-page chargesheet against them in a city court last week. As per the chargesheet,
the PLA and CPI (Maoist) had signed a MoU on October 22, 2008 for extending help
to each other in fighting war against the government. Delhi Police that has so
far found around 500 emails from the ID's of the two accused has sent a letter
rogatory to the US to seek details about those mails from Yahoo and Gmail. "Wangba
joined the PLA in 2002 and was sent to Bangladesh where he worked for three years.
He came back to Assam and through two Maoist leaders, Raj and Prafull, met Kishenji
on the Jharkhand-Orissa border. The PLA cadre imparted two-month basic military
training, guerrilla warfare tactics, communication training and provided wireless
transmission sets, AK assault rifles and ammunition to the Maoists," the chargesheet
said. "One of the emails expresses gratitude to the comrades of CPI (Maoists)
who had carried out a military offensive against security forces on April 6, 2010
in Dandakaranya, Chhattisgarh, for their bravery, intelligence and dedication.
On April 6, 2010, Ganapathy sent an email to Singh thanking for support and encouragement
in developing the present guerrilla war into a mighty war against the Indian security
forces," the chargesheet adds.
