Hyderabad Test: McIntosh's ton helps Kiwis reach 258-4 on Day One

Opener Tim McIntosh scored a brilliant century to guide New Zealand to 258-4 in their first innings at close of play on the opening day of the second Test match against India being played at Hyderabad's Rajiv Gandhi Stadium. McIntosh scored 102 runs during his knock with the help of 10 fours and a six before being bowled by Zaheer Khan. After the dismissal of opener Brendon McCullum, McIntosh added 147 runs with Martin Guptill for the second wicket and 55 runs with Ross Taylor for the third wicket. Today's knock was McIntosh's second Test century in his 15th Test match and the first against India. The Kiwis, who opted to bat first after winning the toss, had Jesse Ryder on 22 and Gareth Hopkins (0) at crease when stumps were called for the day. Zaheer Khan was the most successful Indian bowler claiming two important wickets and giving away just 41 runs in his 18 overs spell. Brief Score: New Zealand first innings: 258/4 in 90 overs (Tim McIntosh 102, Martin Guptill 85; Zaheer Khan 2/41).
