Congress party wary over Karnataka developments | In the normal course the Congress party would have been happy that the Bharatiya Janata Party is having trouble in sticking to office in the State, but the way in which the developments have unfolded it is wary of rushing in to assume office. The leakage of information that Governor H.R.Bhardwaj has written to the
Central Government recommending President's Rule in the State has given ground
to the opposition to generate sympathy for Karnataka Chief Minister B.S.Yeddyurrappa.
The Congress Party in the State is wary of of forming any government with the
Janata Dal (Secular) in Karnataka. According to reports, . Shivkumar, Working
President of the Pradesh Congress Committee of Karnataka, has written to the Congress
leadership that going with the JD(S) is not favourable for the State Unit, said
reliable sources. Meanwhile, talking to ANI in Delhi, Congress party's spokesman
Mohan Prakash said, "We don't believe in "Jor-Tor ki Rajniti" (of splitting parties
and buying up MLAs to stitch together). We know the BJP lacks adequate numbers
and its Government will fall on its own."
