Incessant rain complicated the flood situation in Punjab further, leaving several people homeless and acres of cropland destroyed. With the River Satluj flowing above the danger mark, floodwaters have affected low-lying areas, crippling normal life in Punjab 's Ferozepur District. "People are facing a lot of problems in commuting. School children and soldiers of the Border Security Force (BSF) are also facing a lot of problems. No help has been given to us by the government. Land owners and farmers are facing problems as their standing crops spread over 7000 acres has been destroyed," said Gurmeet Singh.
