Bangalore cricket stadium gets hi-tech security |
M Chinnaswamy cricket stadium in Bangalore has been equipped with
sensitive cameras and long distance explosive detectors. Twenty-nine closed circuit
television cameras, of which five are highly sophisticated and have 360-degree
vision, would keep tap on each nook and corner of the stadium. Trained marshals,
each provided with a sensitive camera on their helmet, would also be armed with
sensitive detectors capable of tracing explosives as far as 300 meters radius.
The 29 CCTVs and upto 15 marshals in turn would be centrally monitored. "This
is called OSD camera which is put on our helmets and which is directly connected
to the CMS vehicle which is standing outside the stadium. So, whatever we see,
whatever we do, each and every pinpoint of the stadium will be seen in the CMS
vehicle. In case we suspect any explosive we will automatically speak to the seniors
sitting in the vehicle and they will instruct us what next to be done," said Moses
Digvijay, a security marshal. Security concerns in the country have heightened
following the attack on the Sri Lankan team bus in the Pakistani in March this
year and last year Mumbai terror attack. |
