Mumbai: India's leading actor of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan suffered serious injuries while shooting a dance sequence for the film Happy New Year in JW Marriott, Juhu, a western suburb of Mumbai, when a door
reportedly crashed on him, on Thursday. He was taken to Nanavati hospital in Vile Parle, another western suburb of Mumbai, and was discharged. And, Shah Rukh resumed his shooting, but was back in the hospital for further treatment, it is reported. He had right shoulder fracture, torn his left knee tendon and wounded his forehead - more serious being the knee injury for which he may have to undergo surgery soon, according to hospital sources. Happy New Year, directed by Farah Khan, has Abhishek Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah and Sonu Sood also acting in. According to an official statement issued by SRK's office earlier, "Mr Khan had a minor accident on the sets while shooting. He has a minor injury and has got the necessary medical aid. Mr Khan is absolutely fine now. Thank you for all your wishes!" Shah Rukh Khan has had a history of such injuries while working in films. He suffered a fracture on his knee cap while shooting for 'Koyla' in 1990s. Some time back he had torn a shoulder muscle, and then a back injury for which he had undergone surgery abroad. Shah Rukh Khan had painful episodes through 'Darr,' 'Ra.One', 'Koyla,' 'Shakti,' 'Dulha Mil Gaya,' 'My Name Is Khan' and 'Chennai Express.' His is not an isolated instance of accidents on the sets. Hrithik Roshan suffered a head injury while performing a stunt for Bang Bang in Thailand recently. Akshay Kumar also had had his share of misfortune injuring his ankle (Pistol) and shoulder (Rowdy Rathore). Amitabh Bachchan suffered a near fatal intestinal injury while filming a fight scene in the 1982 movie Coolie. Still not out of the trauma. |
