KENNEDY SPACE CENTER: It has been described as a new era in space flight. In
an amazing achievement, SpaceX Dragon capsule docked with International Space
Station on Sunday at the appointed time.
McClain, Saint-Jacques and ISS commander Oleg Kononenko were able to enter
the Dragon a couple of hours later.
The astronaut capsule was launched into space atop a Falcon rocket.
Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley waiting on the ground will travel in the Dragon
next after successful demonstration mission.
Lots of money and technology and engineering has gone into the experiment,
opening up the private sector to space flights.
The capsule will begin its return journey to earth on Friday.
Nasa chief Jim Bridenstine said it was a new era.
Elon Musk said, "Everything we know so far is looking positive. Unless something
goes wrong I should think we'll be flying (people) this year; this summer, hopefully."
The docking success has been hailed as a great leap for SpaceX and future
astronauts flying to and from the International Space Station.
